by Dr. Ian Dunbar

The Official Bootleg Video. This is Dr. Dunbar's favourite seminar EVER and best-seller showing Dr. Dunbar at his very best.

This classic lecture from 1994 has always been one of Dr. Dunbar's favorites, and we're very excited to offer it now on DVD.

Dr. Dunbar has always been one of the best at explaining dog training from the dog's point of view, and in this video he highlights many of the most common mistakes humans make when trying to train their dogs. Along the way he reveals the many techniques dogs use to train their humans. As a result, this lecture provides invaluable insights into the nature of training and motivation, whether it's in our relationship with our pets, children, spouse or coworkers.

Who Trains Whom
Seminar by Dr Ian Dunbar 1994

This DVD is about 2 hours long, and 20 years old. It is filmed at a seminar in Ontario,
Canada, with a single camera focused just on Dr Dunbar as he speaks, consequently the
production values are limited. HOWEVER, the content is as good now as it was then, and
is certainly not dated. I am a fan of Dr Dunbar and have been to his seminars and
experienced first hand his excellent delivery and obvious wealth of knowledge and vast

In this DVD Dr Dunbar covers many subjects from puppy hood, separation anxiety, recalls,
sociability and many more. He explains in easy to understand language positive &
negative reinforcement, reinforcement schedules and why aversive punishment is so
counter productive.

Dr Dunbar also shows us how our dogs learn to train us, with examples of behaviours that
I am sure we will all recognise. In all his training Dr Dunbar emphasises the importance of
the relationship and trust, with our companion.

So yes it is 20 years old, but I would have no hesitation in recommending it to any dog
owner now and in the future.
