Quick Overview

You love your dogs and want them to have happy and healthy lives but dogs can find certain situations stressful: the home, the car, as a puppy or as an elderly dog or maybe they're just stressed in general.

Through A Dog's Ear is the only clinically researched auditory series with practical solutions for canine anxiety issues. So how do they work? A normal music CD only in appearance, each of the volumes feature classical music played by award-winning concert pianist, Lisa Spector, however, the selection, sequencing and arrangements of each track follow clinically tested psychoacoustic principles in order to have a calming effect. Music to Calm Your Canine Companion

Music can soothe the savage beast including your dog! Millions of dog guardians have grappled with behaviour problems caused by their dog's anxiety from fits of barking when their spaniel is left home alone to the nervous whimpering of their collie during a thunderstorm. Now, psychoacoustic expert Joshua Leeds joins concert pianist Lisa Spector to bring you Through a Dog's Ear, the first CD in a new series of music clinically demonstrated to calm canine listeners.

Studies show that these solo piano classical arrangements reduced anxiety behaviour and induced calmness in 70% of dogs in shelters or kennels and 85% of dogs in households. What's the secret? Thanks to their breakthrough research, conducted with veterinary neurologist Susan Wagner, Leeds and Spector have developed a unique understanding of how the canine nervous system responds to sound. Using that insight, they have created music shown to be twice as effective as conventional classical selections for soothing dogs. Through A Dog's Ear brings you timeless music that you can enjoy with your furry companion and, most importantly, will help your best friend live a happier and healthier life.

Music to Calm Your Dog in the Car

This psychoacoustically designed music strikes the ideal balance of keeping you alert in the driver's seat while soothing your dog's nerves for a comfortable, pleasant journey.

Whether you're taking your four-legged friend for a short spin across town or on a long road trip, here is an invaluable musical companion to help both you and your dog enjoy the ride.

Includes Travel Prep - an additional 20 minutes of music to prepare especially anxious dogs for riding in the car. Also included are specific protocols that address three degrees of auto anxiety.

How to Use Through A Dog's Ear: Driving Edition The Driving Edition is designed for both driver and dog. Our goal is to relax the dog while keeping the driver alert. For optimal effect, please observe the following instructions carefully. There are degrees of automobile anxiety issues with dogs. The instructions will address three categories:

  2. Dogs with mild automobile anxiety issues.
  3. Dogs with moderate to extreme automobile anxiety issues.

Music to Calm Your Puppy

Volume 1:

Who doesn't love puppies? They are the epitome of innocence, sweetness, non-stop energy and mischievousness! Their sensory environment, however, can positively or negatively impact personality, perception, and tolerances for years to come. This CD is specially designed for tender and impressionable young dogs.

Volume 2: For the prevention of noise phobia

Volume 2 provides two CDs of sonic inoculation for your new housemate. Repeat playing introduces common noises.  Set against the backdrop of calming piano arrangements, these sound effects will acclimate your pup to the sounds of the human culture and helping to prevent sound phobias before they ever develop.

Household and outside sounds include:

  • kitchen and doorbells
  • mobile phones and video games
  • helicopters and planes
  • traffic and dustbin vans
  • construction
  • car alarms

Music to Comfort Your Elderly Canine

As your dog gets on in years, older dog syndromes may cause a change in behaviour. If your pet is less responsive, sleepless at night, or stares at a wall, now you have a tool to help - without resorting to pharmaceuticals.

Music for the Canine Household:

When you're at home, you want music that is going to keep your pooch settled, yet keep you from snoozing, too!

Sound therapy expert Joshua Leeds and musician Lisa Spector bring you classical music that facilitates awakened awareness in people while simultaneously providing relaxation for your dog.

What people say:

"We are seeing a huge difference in our kennels now we are playing the CD's I bought from the website. Peace and quiet is a blessing... has rubbed off on the staff as well" Elizabeth Panter, RVN

"A dog came in that needed to be under our care for the day. He was barking incessantly while in his kennel. We put on Calm your Canine Companion and he very quickly stopped barking and remained quiet during the remainder of his stay. Every vet should be recommending these CD's to their clients." Dr. Laurie McKinney, DVM
