Important information for all venues

  • Dogs must be sociable enough with dogs and people to work in close proximity with others.
  • A basic level of training is required but most dogs who have done some training previously should enjoy and benefit from the day.
  • Attendance at the class does not guarantee filmwork but opportunities may well come along for some attendees.
  • Sessions are PAYG and while there is no commitment to attend every month, sessions may get booked up quickly as places are strictly limited.

About the Trainer

Sally holds a First Class Honours degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training and has many years experience of working with and training all sorts of animals (from hamsters to giraffe!). For a time, she worked at a private zoo that trains their animals for film and TV work, both at the zoo and on location, and on a rare breeds public farm.

However, her passion has always been dogs. Sally has a good deal of experience of working with her own and others' dogs on everything from TV programs and photo shoots to pop videos. Sally's own terrier has appeared at the Royal Opera House for "L'elisir D'amore". She has been teaching dog training to adults and children for over 20 years and has taught a number of courses in filmwork. Sally supplies dogs for TV and film work through www.dog-and-bone.co.uk/available-dogs

Sally has owned a Golden Retriever, a Swedish Vallhund dog and a variety of terriers and crossbreeds. She has competed in agility, obedience and flyball and has worked in boarding and rescue kennels as well as groomers and veterinary surgeries.

Sally also runs www.youtube.com/naturallyhappydogs and enjoys sharing her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for dog care and training with the world, and making a positive difference to dogs and owners' lives.
